Overview

Supply Chain Control Manufacturing Analyst role in PepsiCo SSA is to provide support to the SC function through:
  • Partnering with key stakeholders to provide insights into business operations
  • Providing visibility on spend
  • Ensuring accurate reporting
  • Identifying areas of waste
  • Effectively safeguard company resources

Responsibilities

General
  • Accountable for financial management, control rigor and value add analysis across Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) for Simba operations (three plants)
  • Monitor inbound and manufacturing elements of the I2C and P2P cycle to ensure:
  • Effective execution and adherence to PepsiCo inventory policy and related procedure
  • Identification of financial risks and opportunities including effective resolution thereof
  • Operational challenges include root cause analysis and related problem solving with plant management
  • Lead product costing process to support new product development decision making process for manufactured finished goods.
  • Collaborate and provide key insights to support the Commercial team to ensure the correct strategic decision is made relating to new product cost.

COGS
  • Responsible for accurate and timely reporting of Direct Costs and Manufacturing Overheads in line with PepsiCo Policy (P&L and Balance Sheet) and reporting requirements
  • Accountable for communication and quantification of risks and opportunities impacting the BU Snacks Plan/Forecast, along with proactively partnering to provide recommendations of potential trade-offs to support delivery in line with Plan / Forecast
  • SAP Product Costing Subject Matter Expert (SME)
  • Prepare weekly production costing reports and analyze plant performance variances
  • Responsible for the execution of the Costing run / Actualization process, including coordinating review with Control Leadership for related impact on COGS impact on performance
  • Accountable for period close activities including but not limited to plant related pre requisites, review of plant COGS spend and related accruals required to ensure accurate reporting
  • Responsible for evaluating purchase price variances (PPV) impacting COGS performance are analyzed prior to period end close
  • Responsible for ensuring accuracy of raw material rebates booking in financials and related invoicing in line with vendor contracts

Masterdata
  • Accountable for masterdata management, control rigor and value add analysis in the Snacks Category
  • Collaborate and provide key insights to support the Commercialization team to ensure the correct strategic decision is made relating to new product cost.
  • Proactive management of Material Master workflow inbox, adherence to product creation timelines & timely escalation of risks or delays.
  • Play an active role on behalf of financial control in Commercialisation forums and key change management projects.

Governance & Business Partnering
  • Control business partner to Plant Management providing ongoing support and guidance for governance and financial related matters
  • Coordinate and support the SC Control Lead to deliver functional mid-month and month-end pre-close meetings with Supply Chain and Procurement Leadership, specifically:
  • COGS (MOH & Directs) performance and key drivers
  • PPV reviews including identification of key drivers
  • Control owner and key team member supporting effective PepsiCo governance within the I2C, P2P and FR processes
  • Accountable for predefined P&L and Balance Sheet related accounts regarding completeness, accuracy and related actions stemming from formal reviews

People Management:
  • Motivate, coach and lead matrix reports (plant finance) to achieve highest standards of excellence
  • Compile and execute staff development and overall bench plans to improve team capability and continuity

Qualifications

  • Minimum a degree in Accounting / Financial Management
  • CIMA / CA (Advantageous)
  • 5 years Costing or Management Accounting experience - FMCG (Preferred)
  • People / process management experience of 3-5 years including strong accounting work experience preferably in FMCG
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint, SAP
  • Team leadership and alignment and Analytical Thinking
  • High level of self-motivation, drive and focus
  • Good interpersonal skills to deal with a variety of people from different backgrounds
  • Strong communication skills and ability to interact with senior management
  • Analytical skills, attention to detail and problem solving
