A new and exciting opportunity has become available for a Management Accountant to join the WEM team. Located at our Bella Vista office and attending our project sites as required, this role is responsible for partnering with our construction teams to provide information to effectively manage a project's financial performance and delivery. In addition, the role works as a key member of the finance team to support with accounting and statutory requirements.

In this position, you will:
  • Partner with construction teams to deliver financial analysis on projects including actual vs. budget, production and performance reporting.
  • Provide analysis on business position and projects, including Forward Contracts & Tender Reports and Claims / PSA Reports.
  • Initiate bank guarantees, insurance cover and preparation of progress claims.
  • Prepare monthly reports, tracking financial performance against budget and including commentary on business performance and assumptions.
  • Prepare bank submissions, including assessment of business performance vs. covenants.
  • Prepare balance sheet, profit & loss and cashflow forecasts, including a breakdown of assumptions and commentary. Work with the Finance Manager to prepare the annual budget.
  • Review and access the purchase and disposal of capital items and financing options.
  • Work with the Finance Team to develop and continuously improve Finance policies, procedures and programs to drive or assist with achieving business objectives.
  • Preparation of Audited Financial Statements and Consolidated Income Tax Return by partnering with our External Auditors to manage the timeline and provide information as requested.
  • Preparation of other Statutory requirements (FBT, GST, PAYG, FTC, Payroll Tax).
  • Ensure compliance with legislation, policies, processes and systems.


We are looking for someone who has:
  • Tertiary qualifications in Commerce, Accounting or Business.
  • CPA / CA Qualified.
  • Previous accounting experience within a business environment.
  • Strong business and analytical acumen with understanding on accounting and financial reporting principles and practices.
  • Time management skills and ability to multitask.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and use own initiative.
  • Adaptable to changing priorities.
  • Attention to detail, diligent and organised.
  • Positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
  • Strong computer literacy skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel and preferably experience with Salesforce and Tableau.
