About The Role

We’re at the heart of everything we do. We’re the team that keep Coventry Building Society in a strong financial position, managing budgets and forecasting for future changes. Being part of our team means making and supporting critical decisions on how our business operates. We have responsibility for a wide range of activities including financial reporting, forecasting, budgeting, cost reporting (making sure our Management Expense Ratio continues to be the among the lowest in the sector) and ultimately protecting our Members’ money.

We’re looking for forward-thinking, problem solving self-starters who are great with numbers but also pride themselves on their networking, influencing and communication skills. You’ll be interpreting complex figures into simple concepts, partnering with key stakeholders within Coventry Building Society who seek your support and advice in making business critical decisions.

Programme Oversight

You’ll go straight into a hands-on role. You will have placements in a range of disciplines including; Financial Reporting and Control, Financial Planning and Analysis, Cost Management and Business Partnering. You’ll quickly become an invaluable asset, using this platform to expand your technical skills and knowledge and understanding how to deliver key commercial messaging in an insightful and articulate way. You will challenge the status quo and influence decisions that ensure Coventry Building Society’s continued success.

You’ll also complete placements in areas that deal directly with our Members to help you understand the importance we place on delivering great service and our Putting Members First belief. In addition to the business knowledge you gain, we’ll support you in developing other skills such as stakeholder engagement, communication and presentation delivery.

You’ll attend development days and take on both individual and group projects that will allow you to network and build strong relationships across the Society. Personal growth is also important to us so we’ll also provide support and time to gain your preferred finance qualification – CIMA or ACCA.

Our values are at the heart of everything we do. Put simply, they’re part of our DNA, they’re what drive our everyday behaviour and we’re really proud of that. By sharing these values, we’ve built a culture where everyone feels like they belong.
