Hays Accountancy & Finance are partnering with a well-established, successful, and growing FMCG Group to recruit for a driven and dynamic Assistant Management Accountant for their Stonehouse, Gloucestershire site. The position will report directly into the Financial Controller and take responsibility for the creation, analysis and reporting of financial information relating to manufacturing overheads/waste. You will provide support to the Finance team and wider controlling team for weekly, monthly, budgeted and forecasted information. Your new role

Your key duties will involve preparation and reporting of financial information, supporting budgeting, forecasting, product costing and variance analysis. You will business partner designated functions within site to understand their process and engage in performance reviews, stock and wastage analysis/reporting and reconciliations relating to stocks. You will ensure all management information is provided in a clear, accurate and timely manner, support month-end procedures, and identify and drive forward process changes/improvements. You will support the site, finance teams and wider manufacturing functions to meet targets, along with being involved in ad-hoc financial projects to support business growth.

What you'll need to succeed

To be considered for this varied Assistant Management Accountant role you will need some experience within a similar position, ideally AAT Qualified looking to further study CIMA/ACCA however candidates qualified by experience will be considered. Strong MS Excel skills, key numerical ability, the ability to manage workloads and meet time-constraints deadlines along with being an analytical self-starter. You will have strong communication skills to build relationships with both internal finance teams, wider business teams and external parties. You will have a desire to improve processes while being a good team player but able to work independently. Experience with SAP financial systems and the manufacturing sector would be advantageous but not essential.
