Position Overview

Our client is looking for a candidate to join their finance team, reporting into the Head of Finance.

This role will give the ideal candidate the opportunity to work within a small finance team, having a pivotal role, where they will gain valuable accounting experience as they take the next step in their career development.

The position will provide exposure to all areas of accounting, including sales and purchase ledger, nominal ledger, balance sheet reconciliations and will in addition act as back up to our weekly payroll function to cover for the payroll officer.

This person will also help to manage our care clients function, which will include working with multiple departments within the business.

Role

* Assist with the weekly invoicing process

* Assist with preparation of Monthly Management Accounts to P&L and Balance Sheet

* Assist with and complete general accounts tasks (where required), including:

* Accruals & Reconciliation

* Inter-Company Invoicing & Reconciliation

* General Ledger management

* Journal Postings where required, i.e. prepayments, accruals, depreciation.

* Support clients and supply chain with queries which arise on an ad-hoc basis

* To ensure that the Fixed Asset register is kept up to date

* Provide support to annual audit processes

* Run the weekly payroll in the absence of the Payroll Officer

* Undertaking financial administration and Internal audits/testing of controls

* Liaising with the team and sharing ideas / improvement points

Team

We are a growing team with a financial accountant, 2 accounts officers, and 1 payroll officer, who all work closely together, where being flexible and supportive is a key facet.

Required skills, education and experience

* Studying for an accounting professional qualification (CIMA, ACCA)

* Excellent systems skills and a demonstrable working knowledge of Microsoft products

* Sage 200 Experience

* Exposure to Payroll Processes, though full training on our system will be given

* Enthusiastic, personable and excellent attention to detail

* Strong interpersonal skills are required to liaise confidently with other parts of the Business

* This role requires heavy use of data and therefore requires a technologically minded individual able to scrutinise data

* Ability to take ownership

* Adaptable, Flexible and Willing to go the Extra Mile
