Role: Accounts Assistant

£35k+Main function of job:To play a leading role within the outsourcing team in providing a first class service to our clients with responsibility for managing a portfolio of clients and helping support the development of the teamMain duties:- Oversee day to day bookkeeping and accounting for a variety of clients of different sizes and in different industries.- Posting of month end journals and preparation of monthly management accounts, including the reconciliation and maintenance of balance sheet accounts.- Preparation of analysis and commentary for inclusion in management accounts.- Preparation and submission of VAT returns under MTD and capability to review returns prepared by others.- Deal with ad hoc queries from clients as the primary contact for own portfolio of clients. - Support the management and training of trainees and apprentices.- Proactively support the team in developing knowledge and experience in new systems and technological advances.?Experience / skills required:- Educated to A level standard or equivalent and AAT level 4 qualified.- Must have 3+ years' experience of working within an accountancy practice in similar role.- Keen to continue or pursue further accounting qualification.- Organised with the ability to meet strict deadlines.- Logical and systematic approach.- Numerate with strong communication skills.- Able to work on own initiative and/or part of a team.Software used:- Microsoft Outlook, Word & Excel?- QuickBooks- Xero- Sage 50 - AutoEntry- Dext- Silverfin- CCH Central
