JOB SUMMARY

Manage the Head Office Support Function Overheads reporting for P&L on a monthly basis providing variance analysis commentary to FP&A department. At management request to prepare and support forecasts and budgets for the HO departments. The individual will also be responsible for assisting with the Year End preparation and review of statutory accounts.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Together with the Finance Manager and other members of the finance team, drive a consistent approach to reporting and other controlling activities
  • Produce monthly results within deadlines, provide detailed understanding and analysis of HO departmental performance and help drive performance improvement through the development and delivery of robust and insightful reporting
  • Produce and process monthly journals, accruals and prepayments working schedules and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Support management in understanding and improving performance
  • Support the invoice and employee expenses approvals process
  • Challenge expenditure and suggest ways to reduce costs
  • Manage the forecast and budget processes on behalf of the head office departments
  • Ensure financial and non-financial controls are in place and are utilised
  • Assistance with the preparation and review of the Statutory Accounts
  • Respond to audit queries in a timely manner
  • Support with the delivery of Ad hoc business requests


KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS
  • Manage the Actuals, Forecasting and Budgeting processes to strict deadlines and ensure the provision of accurate and timely information.
  • Some exposure to and experience of P&L management with an ability to influence senior management
  • Ability to manage multiple cross-functional stakeholders and prioritise tasks
  • Accounting and financial management skills with an ability to apply financial knowledge to commercial and operational scenarios
  • Ability to communicate financial issues to non-finance stakeholders in an effective manner


QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES
  • Proven ability to work to strict deadlines
  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
  • Strong Excel and system skills – SAP ideal but not essential
  • Comfortable working in a challenging environment whilst remaining flexible, proactive, retaining an attention to detail and being efficient and resourceful
  • Proven ability to multitask whilst prioritising in accordance with the needs of the Company
  • Demonstrates discretion and maintains confidentiality at all times
  • Attitude, approach and potential to develop are more important than experience for this role
