Group Financial Accountant opportunity within a fast growing acquisitive group organisation offering exposure to acquisition accounting, financial controls and processes and unrivalled career development.

This fast growing business has increased revenue significantly during the past 5 years through a succession of strategic acquisitions. The Group is now poised to start a new ambitious acquisition-focused growth phase which will see the Group concentrate on expanding its UK footprint to become the leading specialist in its core sectors.

THE OPPORTUNITY

A new Group Financial Accountant position has arisen which will involve supporting the Group Finance Director and Financial Controller and managing the finances for newly acquired businesses.

Areas of responsibility will include

• Leading the migration of finance systems from new acquisitions to the Group's Finance system and implementing new financial controls and processes
• Liaising with Directors of newly acquired businesses to ensure a smooth transition to all aspects of the Group’s systems and processes, ensuring a joined-up approach across the business
• Acquisition accounting and computation of opening balance sheets and adjustments to align to Group accounting policies
• Driving process and system improvements across various Group companies, increasing robustness of controls
• Creating new financial analysis and reporting as required
• Ad-hoc projects as required by Group Finance Director and Finance Controller

This opportunity will offer variety, challenge and superb long-term career progression within the Group Finance Department structure as the business continues to grow at pace. The positions would suit a newly or recently Qualified Accountant (ACA / ACCA/ CIMA) with a background in either Industry or Chartered Practice.

THE PERSON

You will be an experienced Finance professional able to demonstrate:

• Newly or recently Qualified Accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA)
• 3 years relevant experience - financial / management accounting, audit, financial controls & processes etc
• Background within Chartered Accountancy Practice or Commerce & Industry
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Ambition and career drive
• Good IT skills, particularly Excel
