About the Role
As Australian Accountant, you will provide high level administrative support to the regional Finance & Compliance teams within John Laing whilst reporting to the Head of Finance. You will support senior stakeholders and play a critical role coordinating and liaising between the appropriate divisions to support financial activities in the region. This is an opportunity for the successful candidate to have global exposure in a fast paced environment in a highly transactional role with scope to develop your abilities over time.

Your key responsibilities will include:
  • Full management of the AP/AR functions for the group
  • Cash management including cash flow forecasts
  • Preparing and supporting month end process
  • Preparing monthly branch reporting including balance sheet reconciliations and OPEX analysis
  • Support HoF with various tax activities across the branches and various entities

About You
You will have a proven accountant work history with ideally 5 - 7 years' work experience across similar industry sectors such as construction, infrastructure, projects, banking or engineering, however this is not a prerequisite. You will be able to demonstrate a working knowledge of management accounting, reporting, planning, budgeting and analysis in addition to general financial administration. You will have a full picture of accounting experience with different group/entities exposure and experience of using a finance/accounting system. You will be degree qualified in Business or Commerce majoring in Accounting and you will be CA/CPA qualified or close to completion. Your personal attributes would include a high attention to detail, be able to hit the ground running and being self-motivated with emotional intelligence.
