Senior Buyer
Pertemps Crawley are pleased to be working with a leading Manufacturer based on the outskirts of Horsham who are looking for a Senior Buyer to join their existing Purchasing Team.
Reporting to the Purchasing Manager, the primary function of this role is to monitor purchasing performance of direct and indirect materials for short & long-term projects, manage Supplier relationships as well as review and amend processes to streamline productivity.
The Role:
Managing a team of 3 Purchasing Assistants to ensure direct & indirect materials are purchased in line with production demands
Processing orders via 'Microsoft Dynamics AX' ERP
Building and maintaining Supplier relationships in line with KPIs and Delivery & Quality Performance
Negotiating contracts with new & existing Suppliers to ensure best price, lead times and services are maintained
Conduct regular reviews and audits
Conduct and develop research to ascertain market trends
Participate in Commercial & Operational meetings and suggest processes to streamline and enhance productivity
Provide monthly analytical reports on Supplier performance via Excel
The Person:
Previous experience of procurement in a manufacturing environment
Experience operating various ERP systems, Microsoft Dynamics AX highly advantageous
Ability to project manage and lead
Proven success negotiating contracts / on boarding Suppliers
Strong analytical skills using Excel
Existing / working towards CIPS qualification
The Package
Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week
£40,000 - £50,000 DOE
Own transport needed due to location & free parking onsite. Hybrid working available once settled into the role
