Assistant Accountant l Permanent
  • Full Time, 38 hours per week, with flexible start and finish times on-site
  • Heathwood Head Office, Western Suburbs with parking on site
  • Annual salary base of $65 000 + superannuation

About the Role
Working within a finance team, this role will see you provide support to Accountants and assist in the management of daily reconciliations, cross checking between systems, inventory analysis, and end-of-month closures. This role will also see you undertake general administration tasks as required and other ad-hoc support.

Key Responsibilities for this interesting role will include:
  • Entering data accurately into books, spreadsheets or accountancy software
  • Keeping records organised and easy to access
  • Tracking invoices, receipts and other financial records
  • Assist with daily bank reconciliation and other reconciliation of accounts at regular intervals
  • Checking for financial irregularities and data entry errors
  • Supporting supervisory and executive staff by performing any assigned accounting and clerical task, if time permits
  • Answering phones and enquiries relating to Accounts
  • Assist with EOM closures
  • Performs other duties as required
About You
  • Must have a Diploma/Degree in Accounting and/or Finance (or currently studying)
  • 3+ years experience in the Accounting and Administration sector
  • Working knowledge of XERO is a must
  • Excellent accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excellent analytical and reporting abilities
  • Ability to organise work, prioritise tasks and work to deadlines
  • Ability to use mathematical skills for accurate accounting data entry
  • Computer literacy and IT skills transferable to bookkeeping software
  • Comprehensive understanding of accounting practices and procedures
  • Excellent customer service skills for dealing with customers
  • Proven track record of picking up new skills and learning to use software with efficiency
  • Payroll experience and inventory experience will be highly regarded
  • Preferably with Inter-company experience
