Our client is a fast-growing scaled up business in the North West part of the city of London in brand new and impressively grand offices.

Their vision is to assist their clients to unlock all of the funding that rewards innovation globally. They do this by combining expert knowledge and advanced technology to take the complexity out of claiming funding that is available. Their current focus is on helping UK companies unlock a portion of the £5Bn of funds available annually for companies that invest in research and development.

Having built a client base of over a thousand companies in the last few years, they continue to expand their focus and as such are looking for an in-house tax compliance senior.

About the Job:

You will be supporting the R&D Tax Report Technician and join their highly skilled team. Working both autonomously and in collaboration, you'll play an integral role in continued growth and be empowered with the right tools and training.

You will develop detailed knowledge of their platform and services with a vision to use this to support the quality of their client's R&D claim submissions to HMRC. Report quality is an important metric for the business as it scales and we are looking to recruit an additional team member to help develop and implement a scale-able quality assurance and control process. Training will be given but applicants should start with a strong awareness of the R&D tax regime and an understanding of what is, and what is not R&D tax qualifying expenditure. Key tasks would include:

Reviewing Subcontractor/EPW documentation.
Report to the Head of Tax

Additional/optional/potential future duties:

Help with any HMRC enquiry work, monitoring time limits and preparing draft letters around this work.
Liaise with HMRC where appropriate.
