The Company

My client is a proudly NZ owned and operated business, boasting a household name in New Zealand. They are market leaders in the retail and wholesale industry and service the construction industry via their network of retails stores that operate across the country. They also work with the biggest players in the construction industry and supply them directly. The offices are conveniently located in Grafton close to public transport links and the motorway. They are currently looking for an accounts payable officer to join the team on a 3-6-month contract with potential to go permanent.

The Role

In this role you will be sitting in a team of 10 Accounts Payable Officers across two offices and working with the wider the finance team. You will be responsible for the validation and entry of high-volume invoices. Using an automated system, you will need to manually correct and adjust any expectations that may occur. You will be an integral member of this established team and your responsibilities will include:

• Managing the full Accounts Payable function
• High volume invoice processing using an AI tool
• Analysing and adjusting any exceptions
• Processing weekly and monthly payment runs
• Completing supplier reconciliations and queries
• Ad-hoc duties as required

Skills & Experience

To be successful in this role you will have experience working in a high-volume Accounts Payable environment. You will have a good understanding of the overall Accounts Payable function and be confident on excel to an intermediate level.

Working within an established and long-standing team you will be someone who can work collaboratively with others whilst being results-orientated with a high level of attention to detail.
