We are delighted to represent my client, a well-known and leading NZ Women's Fashion brand and retailer who is looking for a Financial Controller for 3 months with the possibility of going permanent. My client is based in Grey Lynn and is looking for someone with an immediate start.

The purpose of this role is that you will be responsible for managing a group of companies Finance and Administration duties. You will be responsible for the overall accounting functions that ensure the businesses are running efficiently, to budget, and complying with all regulatory requirements. This is a Senior role and there will be an Assistant Accountant working under you.

This is a full-time position. This role will be Monday- Friday 9:00 am - 5:00 pm and 40 hours a week. This is a very varied role and they are looking for someone who can hit the ground running!

As the Financial Controller, some of your key areas of responsibility will include:
  • Managing all tax compliance including - PAYE, GST, Income Taxes, RWT
  • Maintain accurate financial accounts for each entity from monthly to P&L, and Balance sheets to full year-end accounts
  • Creation and preparation of monthly management reporting packs
  • Liaising with External Accountants to finalize year-end accounts and filing tax returns
  • Dividend calculations, documentation, and filing
  • Cashflow Management and forecasting to ensure maximizing efficiency of working capital
  • Signatory on all group bank accounts, audit and approve any outing payments for accuracy, completeness, and validity
  • Annual budget preparation for management approval
  • Administration of all employment documentation and employee files
  • Other duties as required

  • Previous experience in a Financial Controller role and experience in retail and manufacturing sectors
  • Payroll - iPayroll
  • Accounting System - Xero
  • Invoice Approvals - ApprovalMax
  • Expense/Credit Card Claims - Xero Expenses
  • Consolidation Accounting System - Fathom
  • Microsoft Office - Excel, Word, Teams (Sharepoint)
  • Stock Management - Ontempo
  • Board reporting - BoardPro
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • The ability to multitask and prioritize, with excellent time management skills
  • Can pick up systems fast, and can work with a computer confidently
