Position Purpose

Metro Trains Melbourne (MTM) is looking for a Senior Finance & Planning Analyst to join the Corporate Finance team. The Senior Finance & Planning Analyst supports the Financial & Planning Analysis Manager and the Commercial Finance team by providing strategic support, analysis, and modelling to aid in decision making and achievement of Metro Trains goals. In addition, this role is part of a new and dynamic team that will help shape the function and find new ways working.

About the Role

The key responsibilities of the Senior Finance & Planning Analyst include:

  • Preparation and submission of MTM's monthly, quarterly, and annual management reporting, shareholder reporting and Board reporting
  • Investigation of financial information and assistance with audit processes
  • Providing analytics and financial modelling for decision-support as required
  • Assessing and monitoring key financial metrics
  • Working collaboratively with key stakeholders to deliver on business objectives

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Commerce or Accounting
  • Qualified Accountant
  • Extensive experience in an FP&A or Management Reporting role for a large, complex organisation.
  • Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Experience in the preparation and collation of financial information
  • Strong interpersonal, problem solving and communication skills, combined with high attention to detail
  • Ability to juggle competing demands and work to tight deadlines
