  • Manage completion, within deadlines, of all monthly financial statements & reporting functions in accordance with Group processes and policies. This will include Group reporting packages (Actual, CSR, Tax Packs, CCE, CBCR and etc), and other month end obligations (eg balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Review of work completed by Associate, GL and any virtual teams - eg balance sheet rec's, HFM completeness, Bank recs etc
  • Ensure compliance with all Group Policies and statutory financial controls, including external/internal audit and FMC requirements.
  • Manage external audit, corporate taxes, VAT, Witholding Taxes, statistical surveys and other statutory reporting matters, including liaison with relevant external parties.
  • Preparation of annual consolidated financial statements.
  • Build and manage relationship with agencies and other SSC teams.
  • Provide advisory support and guidance for any accounting & taxes matters to agencies and other SSC teams.
  • Support collaboration within Groupe and agencies, which include agency integration, legal entities reduction, Post Month end & Balance Sheet Review and etc.
  • Assist management on continuous improvement projects as appropriate that may arise on an ad-hoc basis.
  • Prepare payment and file RWT and NRWT returns.
  • Prepare and file monthly consolidated GST return
  • Prepare and file the quarterly FBT returns. Review P&L to ensure all FBT items are reported. Assist with any ad hoc FBT queries.
  • Monthly and year end income tax calculations and filing of annual tax returns.
  • Completing the New Zealand Statistics returns.
  • General assistance to the Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Treasury, Payroll, Procurement, Insurance and Real estate teams on New Zealand queries.
  • Company secretarial duties such as filing of annual returns and financial statements.

Qualifications

Qualifications
  • Qualified Chartered Accountant with strong technical knowledge
  • 4-5 years post CA qualification commercial financial accountant experience
  • Proven Financial Management Skills
  • Working within a virtual team
  • Experience in advertising or media industry will be advantageous
  • Good understanding of Corporation Tax, and VAT
  • Process driven and experience in process improvement to achieve efficiency

  • Knowledge of accounting standards and tax requirements
  • Ability to evaluate, understand business processes and integrate with accounting and control functions
  • Ability to analyse results and provide inferences and conclusions
  • Possesses absolute integrity
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, planning & analytical skills
  • Demonstrate maturity in thinking and in conduct
  • Ability to exercise initiative and sound judgement

Skills (including technology)
  • Experience in the use of Pegasus, SAP and SpectraMD systems desirable
  • Experience in Hyperion reporting desirable
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel
