Our Futures Division was set up in January 2022 to accelerate our growth plans. It is focused on anticipating and delivering future growth opportunities arising from two key trends in the construction industry: sustainability and a new wave of industrialisation of the construction processes.initial focus has been on delivering fa?ade products and solutions adapted to the needs of the fast-growing offsite and modular construction markets in the UK. Ibstock Futures will target both the new build and re-cladding markets, with products suitable for a wide range of residential, commercial and mixed-use applications.
As our Financial Controller, you will help drive the appropriate strategic direction of the Finance function, to achieve its aspirational targets whilst ensuring continuous alignment to overall objectives and expectations of Ibstock PLC. Working closely with our Finance & Operations Director for Futures, you will be key to driving the integration of M&A Business Units (BUs).
In this role, you will:
The role is also responsible for setting and monitoring the performance of each BU in line with their set budgets. It is required to work closely with the Business Finance team for transactional support.
With the ability to partner and stand-alone, you will thrive navigating ambiguity, working at pace and demonstrate a growth mindset, agile to your environment.
In order to be successful, we would like you to:
? Demonstrate the ability to work flexibly with different types of organisations (e.g. small owner managed businesses) and help create and deliver the transition into a PLC environment
? Be a qualified accountant with several years post qualification experience in Commercial Finance and Business partnering roles.
? Have the ability to integrate and work closely with non financial counterparts in a leadership capacity
? Have an attention to detail that improves forecast integrity, balanced with the ability to see the financial plan in total to be able to articulate the business strategy
? Lead on/through change - challenging and influencing senior management and team
? Possess the ability to thrive in an environment of business change and define new processes
Prior experience of working within the construction industry would be beneficial but non-essential. Ideally, you will have worked in a high growth/high innovation environment, with a history of success executing integration plans for finance processes.

- Develop and create the financial integration plans (completed 3 months before acquisition)
- Be the interface point to deliver finance integration steps into SSC (Month 0 - 6)
- Create and develop a consistent reporting framework for financial reporting
- Manage performance review KPIs and reporting for BAU performance controls - ensuring group reporting requirements are met
- Central role around maintaining the financial reports to track performance for BAU operations but also a major focus on pipeline delivery and conversion tracking for ensuring that M&A targets are on track for returns based on business case.
