Junior Accountant

Based in Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire our global leading and innovative life-changing client is looking for a Junior Accountant to join their team on a temporary basis.

This job would suit someone with basic accounting experience to support the Finance function in order to achieve timely and accurate reporting in accordance with both local regulations (legal entity reporting) and US GAAP requirements.

Our client is an innovative company that is a global leader in its field with a global turnover over £3Bn. This UK function reports into Europe but acts as one of the "go to" functions in Europe for leading projects, advising on change and improvements as well as driving any technical finance developments.

The successful individual will have reasonable level of accounting and/or business experience to assess risk of errors and make sound decisions. They will have good problem-solving abilities to provide solutions in financial and non-financial situations.

responsibilities:

• General accounting and reconciliations: recording and posting of monthly accounting transactions and reconciliation of localised accounts such as credit cards.
• Controls: ensures all activities are completed in compliance with policies and procedures.
• Coordinating with Accounts Payable team to solve escalated invoice and payment queries, and review team performance levels.
• Interaction with non-Finance teams in UK&I to embed better business practices where initiatives are rolled out.
• Reviewing payments for compliance with anti-bribery policies.
• Managing and monitoring the employee expense card programme.
• Compiling and delivering intercompany accounting reporting and performing related financial postings.
• Providing audit support (internal and external).
