The RoleThe Director of Sustainability will be accountable for developing and driving a programmatic approach to ESG Reporting and Emissions Accounting and creating a Net Zero Plan.Your Impact
ESG Reporting and Emissions Accounting
  • Collect and manage sustainability data on an ongoing basis globally across Scope 1, 2, 3 emissions, and document methodologies in an Inventory Management Plan.
  • Maintain a detailed understanding of environmental sustainability reporting frameworks and best practices in ESG data disclosure, benchmark standard methodologies, and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Guide the submittal of information to relevant ESG Rating organizations.
  • Lead the submittal of sustainability data into third-party reporting portals.

Net Zero Plan
  • Support the development of AspenTech’s Net Zero GHG emissions goal, and decarbonization roadmap to achieve the goal.
  • Coordinate or lead cross-functional teams to develop and implement sustainability initiatives as part of the decarbonization roadmap; drive employee engagement programs.
  • Assess or propose sustainability initiatives, considering factors such as cost effectiveness, effort, and feasibility.
  • Research or review regulatory, technical, or market issues related to environmental sustainability.
  • Assist in the development and review of expert content for external and internal communications and messaging about sustainability topics.
  • Support the development of external communications including ESG Report.
  • Develop reports or presentations to communicate the progress and effectiveness of sustainability initiatives to different levels and functions within the organization.
  • Support customer requests for information on AspenTech’s sustainability programs.
What You'll Need
  • Develop AspenTech’s decarbonization roadmap to deliver our Net Zero goal.
  • Deliver improvements in AspenTech’s carbon footprint globally via the identified pathways.
  • Improve AspenTech’s ratings with key ESG Rating organizations. (e.g., CDP, MSCI, ISS and Sustainalytics)
  • Ensure AspenTech’s reporting is aligned with global best-practice disclosure frameworks. (e.g., GRI, SASB, and TCFD)
  • Prepare AspenTech for ESG requests from customers. (e.g., EcoVadis)
  • Communicate plans and progress to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, environmental science, engineering, or sustainability.
  • MBA or advanced degree in science, engineering, or sustainability preferred.
  • 5+ years’ experience supporting a global, public company’s environmental sustainability program, or 5+ years’ experience in environmental sustainability consulting, working with global, public companies.
  • Strong communication, writing and presentation skills – proven ability to summarize complex material into key findings and implications for our business.
  • A team player who demonstrates the willingness and ability to work effectively in diverse teams and collaborate with colleagues at all levels.
