Macildowie Finance are working on an exclusive vacancy with a leading Leicestershie business to recruit an Assistant Accountant on a 6mnth fixed term contract basis.The role will form part of a friendly finance team to provide valuable and flexible support in a fast paced, dynamic environment with a business who really values its employees. The Role:

• Reporting into an experienced Financial Accountant
• Supervising 2 Accounts Assistants day to day including coaching & assisting in their development
• Manage the transactional finance team, allocation of work and escalating of issues to finance management.
• Ensure payment runs are raised & reviewed before submission to Financial Accountant.
• Assist Senior Finance members in the preparation of monthly management accounts including accruals and payments and preparing balance sheet reconciliations.
• Assist the Financial Accountant with the preparation and submission of VAT returns and other statutory requirements
• Prepare and manage the fixed asset register monthly.
• Assist the financial accountant with monthly cost centre budget reviews and preparation of the annual overhead budget.

The Person:Previous accounting experience at Assistant Accountant level is required for this role. Excellent Excel experience is a pre requisite along with strong written and verbal communication skills.Being very well organised and having the experience of working to tight deadlines is also essential. The ideal candidate will have a keen willingness to learn and develop within a finance career, ideally looking to study ACCA/CIMA or have recently started. We are also requiring someone to start as soon as possible so you should be in role well before Christmas!
