Do you enjoy complex problem solving and have an interest in understanding how a global financial group operates? Are you curious and like to be challenged whilst learning new skills?

Join a high-calibre, collaborative workplace where you will be involved in developing and executing Macquarie's capital management strategy. This is a unique opportunity which will necessitate you to think broadly, be proactive, and consider how the business environment, regulations, ratings and other changes will shape Macquarie's business activities.

The Capital management team within Group Treasury is responsible for the management of the Group's capital position. This includes assessing the appropriate amount and mix of capital for the Group, taking into account ratings agency, debt investor, shareholder and regulator expectations. The team also recommends and executes on capital actions (including semi-annual dividend and capital issuances) and works closely with the businesses to understand the drivers of their capital footprint and to support their growth.

In this role you will work on projects and deliverables relating to the analysis and interpretation of complex data, regulatory developments and credit rating agency methodologies in order to drive strategic capital management decision making. You will be exposed to the inner-workings of an internationally active financial conglomerate group, with exposure to Senior Management, in a non-hierarchical, merit-based environment.

In this role your technical skills and qualifications will include:
  • A relevant academic background in a financial or quantitative degree (interested candidates with backgrounds in STEM are encouraged to apply).
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills, including modelling and manipulation of data in excel.
  • Clear & concise written and verbal communication skills and ability to engage with all levels of management including non-technical stakeholders.

This role will suit you if you are analytical, commercially minded and enjoy problem solving. Prior experience in treasury related functions will be viewed favourably, but is not required.
