About the Role
This role is based in Christchurch to support Commercial & Recycling Operations in North Island. You will become an important member of our regional leadership teams and help us shape the financial and commercial strategies for the regions. This role may require some travel, so a mix of flexible and remote working is on offer. We are a service-based industry with plenty of exciting opportunities. Not only you can gain a lot of experience from working on a variety of commercial projects, but also you should be able to see the market reaction to your work. Key responsibilities:
- Provide guidance and analysis on growth opportunities and operational efficiencies.
- Analyse and review volume, price, customer profitability, cost allocation, and profit.
- Collect, and compile sales and market information and review our pricing on a regular basis.
- Prepare service and tender price modelling as required.
- Prepare financial models on investment proposals as required.
- Assist with preparing operation and sales reporting and business performance reviews.
- Partner with Operating Unit teams to prepare plans and budgets in alignment with Divisional guidelines and timetables.
To be successful in this role you must have:
- A minimum of 2+ years experience in a similar role.
- Path to CAANZ/CPA membership.
- Strong commercial awareness and business acumen.
- Articulate with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to communicate complex financial information in a concise, non-technical manner.
- Ability to collect and analyse data from multiple sources and systems.
- Ability to work both collaboratively with other teams, and autonomously.
- Interest in learning new systems, processes, various business streams and operational accounting.
- Excellent time management.
- Intermediate to advanced skills in MS Office.
With a track record of engaging with operation & sales managers on a regular basis, and can translate their needs into tidy and presentable financial, business and pricing models. You will also add value by sharing your perspective, and challenging the status quo with information and data that facilitate our quest for continuous improvement.
