About the role:

Reporting to the Head of GFS, the role is to manage the growing GFS team responsible for preparing the financial statements for international clients of the global management services arm of the OTS practice. This work will be undertaken using dedicated third-party software. It will involve working closely with RSMI International member firms to prepare relevant GAAP bridges, deal with ad hoc audit enquiries, and review the financial statements.

The GFS manager will assist the Head of GFS, working closely with the global management services team and the Head of Outsourcing to continue targeting and onboarding new clients as the GFS practice grows. As the GFS practice grows, the candidate can develop into leadership roles.

About the department:

Our global management services team provides multi-country clients with a seamless, single point of contact access to the firm’s global network by co-ordinating the local country delivery of regulatory compliance services such as direct tax compliance and reporting, management and financial accounting, local statutory audit and local payroll. The single point of contact is located in a Project Management Office (PMO) in Milton Keynes.Having successfully implemented a Global VAT compliance service delivering centralised, UK-based VAT compliance services to our international client base, we have further expanded our global service offering options for clients by adding an international bookkeeping centre and a virtual centre for the preparation of international financial statements.The initial establishment phase of the GFS team is complete, and several clients have been secured. The next stage is to build further clarity into the model, expand its market presence internally and externally and grow the business accordingly.About the person:

We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated individual who is technically robust in financial reporting; has excellent team management, team building and interpersonal skills. An interest in the process and efficiency of producing financial statements will also be significant as this is not a purely technical role.Role activities:
  • Assisting the Head of GFS in growing the practice through sales and innovations in the service line.
  • Managing the team, planning the work and reviewing the financial statements to ensure a high-quality service.
  • Maintaining and evolving the GFS scoping and pricing models.
  • Working with RSM member firms for local quality assurance of financial statements, where required.
  • Participating in the global management services team strategy

  • Competent in UK financial reporting; international financial reporting experience advantageous.
  • Experienced in finance process improvement techniques.
  • Experienced in managing more junior team members and developing their skills and capabilities.
  • Strong business acumen and capacity to influence and convince.
  • Strong interpersonal and client-handling skills.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong Excel numerical and IT skills, including data transfer and manipulation between client accounting systems and external software.
