People and Pay (PAP) is the HR and payroll division of People Advisory Services, delivering cutting-edge and premium payroll software and solutions to an exceptional range of clients. These span from small entrepreneurial enterprises to large corporations, inclusive of top-name brands across industries such as retail, manufacturing, financial services and the public sector to name but a few.

About the opportunity

As a Payroll Executive, you will work within a welcoming team, reporting to the Payroll Team Leader or Payroll Manager. You'll ensure accurate and timely outsourced payroll production for various clients in accordance with statutory regulations and with a strong focus on customer service. Continuingly adapting to changing landscapes and with a brilliant infrastructure of specialists, training and technology, you will be at the forefront of payroll, becoming a true expert and consultant.

Responsibilities:
-
  • Ensuring accurate and timely payroll end-to-end production for various clients in accordance with statutory regulations within payroll deadlines and requirements.
  • Servicing multiple clients as part of a team effort to deliver excellent service to our clients.
  • Managing payroll deadlines and requirements of your own personal portfolio of payroll clients.
  • Ensuring you have up to date knowledge of statutory and legislative regulations by attending in-house training courses.
  • Managing import/export of new employee and timesheet data onto the payroll platform, including:
  • Starters
  • Leavers
  • Absences and work plans
  • Variations and adjustments
  • Salary changes
  • Changes to benefits and allowances and different contract types
  • Child Care Voucher schemes
  • Pension deductions
  • Processing statutory payments.
  • Generating payroll reports, P45s etc., using our in-house systems and Microsoft Excel.
  • Distributing payslips to multiple platforms.
  • Submitting reports to HMRC via RTI.
  • Managing client billing.
  • Ensuring procedures and key control documents are kept up to date for auditing purposes.
  • Completing any other ad hoc duties as required.


About the ideal candidate

The ideal applicant will have good practical understanding of payroll calculations, deadlines, and UK legislation and requirements, coupled with strong numerical abilities and proven experience in MS Office, in particular Excel. You will have knowledge of month-end and year-end returns and balancing with the ability to perform manual calculations, as and when required. Previous experience of working in a multi-frequency payroll environment is advantageous.
