We are currently looking for 2 Finance Analysts to join our team! In these newly created roles, you will support the Finance Business Partner in running the month-end accounts and all financial planning and analysis activities for the new Online businesses (Pro Tiler and Tile Warehouse) as well as the Commercial business (Parkside). The role will cover both financial accounting and management accounting activities, as well as reporting, analysis, and business commercial support.

Key Accountabilities
  • Working closely with the Finance Business Partner, to ensure that key aspects of the monthly management accounts processes are appropriately administered and information is available in a timely fashion.
  • Work with the Head of FP&A and Finance Business Partner to deliver a five-year financial plan and one year budget which will help the businesses to deliver their strategy and goal.
  • To ensure that key aspects of the financial accounting and management accounting processes are appropriately administered and information is available in a timely fashion.
  • Close off the ledgers within agreed timescales and ensure that all key balance sheet control accounts have been reconciled and approved on a monthly basis.
  • Ensure robust financial processes exist to support the integrity of reporting and ultimately safeguard the company against loss (e.g. balance sheet recs, bank recs, etc) and that regulatory processes are complied with (HMRC, Companies Act, etc).
  • Support the businesses with reporting and analysis, ensuring accuracy, relevancy and timeliness of insight.
  • Support the Finance Business Partner in various other financial activities as required.
  • Preparation of month end management accounts.
  • Ensure that financial performance is well understood across the business, and commercial insight is generated in a way that colleagues generate learnings and instigate change.
  • Ensure that the Head of FP&A and Finance Business Partner are well appraised of performance (e.g. variances vs budget) and emerging long-term trends.
  • Preparation of information for presentations across the business, for example weekly reporting (including KPIs, etc.), Board reporting, etc.
  • Support financial control and ensure that key balance sheet control accounts have been reconciled on a monthly basis.
  • Work with auditors to ensure subsidiary statutory accounts are produced within the required timescales.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required:

Essential
  • Good level of commerciality - be able to participate in commercial / operational discussions.
  • Effective communication skills - both on a 1:1 basis and in a group environment.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to influence and support non-financial teams.
  • Ability to prioritise, multi-task and manage deadlines.
  • Good working knowledge of accounting systems - general ledger, purchase ledger, sales ledger, bank recs etc.
  • Good working knowledge of core finance processes - monthly management accounts (including commentary on variances), stock accounting, weekly reporting, budgeting & planning, decision / commercial support.

Desirable
  • Experience of financial planning, e.g. budgeting.
  • Knowledge and experience of Microsoft Dynamics, Xero or Bright Pearl.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including the use of formulas, VLOOKUP, pivot tables etc.
  • Experience of Microsoft Word, Powerpoint and Outlook.
  • Good working knowledge of other business areas e.g. commercial, operational and supply chain
