Head of Commercial Revenue– option to work from home 1 or 2 days per week combined with working at our offices in either London, Aylesbury or Banbury, whichever you prefer.
Chiltern Railways is a train operating company owned by Arriva UK trains, offering services from London Marylebone to destinations in Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire, Warwickshire and the West Midlands. You’ll join our Commercial and Customer Strategy Directorate, at an exciting time of business growth and change.
The Role – Head of Commercial Revenue (Retail)
Reporting to the Commercial and Customer Strategy Director, as the Head of Commercial Revenue you’ll lead the short, medium, and long term strategies for commercial ancillary revenue and fare box activities at Chiltern Railways. Your duties will include:
* Leading all commercial activity associated with protecting and driving revenue growth including developing strategies to maximise profitability
* Leading income analysis, forecasting and target setting activities
* Setting and leading the retail systems strategy along with implementing and operating new retail systems
* Directing the implementation of new tickets and changes to fares
* Managing the delivery of customer experience projects
* Identifying risks and commercial opportunities in the business plan and proposing improvements
* Managing all associated contracts and relationships
* Developing KPIs and tools to track and report risk, as well as undertaking market reviews on an annual basis
Our Requirements – Head of Commercial Revenue (Retail)
* Significant experience of analysing data and forecasting
* Solid understanding of key economic and statistical concepts e.g., demand forecasting models, revenue systems, sampling errors, statistical regression, etc.
* Superb leadership and people management skills
* Ability to negotiate at a senior level
* Ability to think creatively
* Good understanding of Microsoft Office products including Excel, and analytical and statistical techniques
* Highly numerate, with excellent written and oral communication skills
Although not essential, a degree level qualification in Economics, Business Studies, Operations Research, Mathematics, or related subject and / or relevant previous experience gained in the railway industry would be advantageous.
The Package
* Salary up to £75,000, with the level dependent on experience
* Permanent contract, working 37.5 hours per week between the hours of 9am and 5pm
