Optum Serve is focused on delivering healthcare solutions to the federal government, agencies, and citizens those agencies serve. The Optum Serve finance team is looking for a candidate to help provide financial analysis and forecasts to the leaders across the organization.

If you are located in Falls Church, VA,, you will have the flexibility to work remotely* as you take on some tough challenges. Open to remote in other locations

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Partner with corporate finance to understand chargeback costs and the method of allocation
  • Assist with preparing the annual budget and forecasts for departments
  • Develop schedules for financial management briefings
  • Consolidate business unit financial results and prepare corporate reports
  • Conduct variance analysis to help explain differences from budget or forecast
  • Work with business partners and stakeholders to monitor costs within departments and cost centers; develop action plans to address concerns/issues

Required Qualifications:
  • Undergraduate business, finance, or accounting degree
  • 4+ years of financial and operational management experience
  • 1+ years of experience working in a federal cost accounting environment
  • Demonstrate competency at leading analysis of projects that deliver key insights for making critical business decisions

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Deltek Costpoint or other cost accounting system
  • Experience with forecasting software such as Anaplan, Acterys, or Workday Adaptive Planning
  • Power BI, Cognos, Tableau, SQL, Hyperion Essbase, Microsoft Access, and PeopleSoft experience
  • Familiarity with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS)
  • Managing indirect cost pools and allocation methodologies
  • Ability to work collaboratively and influence across a matrix environment to drive revenue enhancement and expense management initiatives
  • Able to find creative solutions to complex topics
