Our client is a leading independent accountancy firm with 18 offices, around 550 employees and ranked in the top 30 firms of accountants and business advisers and they are recruiting a Accounting Director in Carlisle.
The tax practice is growing rapidly and our client has a fantastic opportunity for a Accounting Director to join the team in Carlisle.
This role will involve working alongside the existing team on a variety of projects who aspire to provide the best service to our clients.
The overall purpose of this role is:
*
Having your own portfolio of basic / large / complex Accounting clients
*
Taking responsibility for the completion and submission of financial statements and business taxation for clients by the required deadlines
*
Briefing Accounting Assistants / Seniors appropriately at the start of an assignment to ensure the job plans and budgets are clearly understood, managing the team during the assignment and being involved in the completion process
*
Attending and contributing to client meetings when required by the Accounting Partner
*
Raising fees in connection with the portfolio for approval by the Accounting Partner and providing explanations and action plans to prevent any overruns in future
*
Managing the workflow and staff development linked to this portfolio
*
Developing the Accounting portfolio and expanding this area of our business
The Candidate
In order to fulfil the role, we expect a candidate to be:
*
Extensive experience in working with clients within the Agricultural sector (and fully understand any legislative requirements associated with providing an Accounting service to those within the Agricultural sector)
*
ICAS / ACA / ACCA Qualified with experience of working within a professional Accounting environment
*
Able to effectively manage and support colleagues under their line management and ensure they are developed to their best ability (experience conducting appraisals / reviews for direct reports would be advantageous)
*
A determined and motivated individual striving to provide an exemplary client service to all prospective and existing clients
*
Able to demonstrate a positive attitude when dealing with colleagues and clients, and use initiative to solve any problems / queries
*
Organised and experienced with planning of workload, prioritising deadlines and delegating work accordingly to other members of your team
*
Self-confident, approachable and capable of building long term relationships with clients
*
Aware of the applicable Accounting Standards
