Finance Analyst

Have you ever considered how a Building Society manages the money our members invest? Or even how they make a profit? Well, being part of the Finance Team at Dudley Building Society, you will be at the heart of where that magic happens!

Working within the Back Office team of the Finance function, the Finance Analyst role is a key member of the team. The successful candidate will support the Finance Team in achieving its goals, but also actively support the member facing Operational Teams, aswell as the Distribution and Products Teams.

The successful candidate will join the team at a very exciting time, supporting the needs of the Society as we grow and develop our mortgage and savings offerings.

If this is something of interest to you, here is a taster of what the role entails;

To assist with the production of monthly management information
Support in posting journals into the accounting applications and preparation of the month end balance sheet reconciliations including the fixed asset register to ensure that risks are identified at the earliest opportunity.
Ownership of several key processes within the reporting cycle, most notably the impairment model and the effective interest rate calculation.
Provision of cost centre reporting information to the Department Heads along with relevant commentary to support their understanding of the variances against budget and forecast.
Support the Financial Controller and Finance Manager with the timely delivery of accurate financial information for the year-end audit.
Preparation of daily bank reconciliations for multiple bank accounts.
Allocation of payments to customer accounts within the accounting application
Production of daily management information reports
Process payments as requested and authorised by respective business arrears
Assist with the processing of treasury related back office activities
Support the operational business with resolution of queries in a timely manner
Support the Finance Manager in the delivery of finance projects and automation of existing processes with the ability and enthusiasm to lead projects.
Identification and implementation of process improvements to further improve the efficiency of the finance function.To be successful in this role, we are looking for someone who is happy to challenge the status quo, with an excellent attitude and ability to think outside the box to provide solutions. We are looking for someone who is at least part qualified with the ACCA qualification or equivalent.

The successful candidate must also be able to demonstrate:

A good working knowledge of finance processes, controls and systems
Strong Microsoft office skills (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
The ability to work to tight deadlines
Good analytical skills with the ability to identify trends and underlying reasons for variances.

35 hours a week contract
Salary between £25,000 and £32,500 depending on experience
