JOB PURPOSE
Home Care Business Group is the second largest Business Group in Unilever accounting for more than 20% of Unilever's Turnover and ~10% of Operating Profit. It includes 1bn brands Dirt is Good & Surf and other brands like Comfort, Sunlight, Domestos & Cif. The Business Group generates 80% of its sales in emerging markets where strong future growth is most likely and holds number one position in 7 out of its top 10 markets. Home Care vision is to transform the cleaning industry with Clean Future strategy, driving sustainable, superior and affordable products while reducing our environmental impact. Its strategic role is to step up profitability in Laundry, drive future formats and scale Home & Hygiene, furthermore in 2021 there are a number of ambitious investments for the Business Group in its Professional cleaning business and scaling a nascent Hygiene business. In this highly competitive environment, we have defined a clear strategy that optimises our current business, whilst understanding how consumer trends will impact our business in the future.
With the compass organization landing, Business Groups (BG) now have end to end P&L responsibility across the company which requires a different way to drive performance management, investment, choices that are fully aligned with strategy, and value creation.
The role will be part of the global Home Care Finance Performance management team with a key role to play in landing strategic choices and driving the business performance forward.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Based in London and reporting to the Finance Manager HC Investments and Savings Programmes, the role of the Finance Analyst HC Investments and Savings Programmes is to support the overall Investments and Savings agenda, turning data into insights to support decision making on the BG resource allocation.
The role will support the totality of BG managed Overheads including target setting, performance management and investment planning as well as driving effectiveness and efficiencies in Brand and Marketing Investment (BMI). The analyst will play a key role in ensuring there is strong analysis and reporting in place to identify opportunities and track savings delivery through the P&L. This will also include reporting on Media return on investment, media sufficiency / competitiveness, Zero Based Budgeting (ZBB) and asset creation.
The role will also support ongoing performance efforts for Home Care across the wider business.
Key Interactions:
Global Home Care Finance
  • Support HC Performance Management Director, HC Investment and Saving Programmes Manager and HC Supply Chain Finance in driving the savings agenda
  • Collaborate with the rest of the finance team to drive Home Care Finance People agenda
Home Care Business Units
  • Share reporting with Business Units, highlighting areas that require intervention / gaps vs. ambition
  • Work with BU performance teams to ensure savings initiatives in BMI and OH are reflected in the P&L (actuals and FC)
Global FET
  • Work with the Global Finance Excellence Team (FET) Cost Control Analysts (x2) to deliver against budgets.
  • Work together to develop future fit reporting and analysis required for the BG.
Global Media
  • Work closely with global media to drive media effectiveness and efficiencies and land ZBB. Identify data required to turn into insights for decision making.
D&A Team
  • Work with Data & Analytics teams to take reporting to the next level, bringing clear insights to the surface.
Budget Holders
  • Clearly communicate budgets and ensure delivery is in line with targets.
Key Accountabilities:
Savings Programmes:
  • Set up and own reporting for the BG highlighting areas that require intervention.
  • Establish robust tracking for savings initiatives, ensuring savings can be tracked to the P&L.
  • Monitoring and reporting gap closing vs ambition.
  • Support Squads with certain markets turnarounds plans and deep dives.
Overheads and BMI Performance Management:
  • Support the long-term BMI and Overheads strategic framework.
  • Supported by FET, establish BMI and Overheads analytics and reporting required to drive performance across the BG (including to BU / Country level), bringing full visibility on actuals, forecast and initiatives to close gaps. Ensure resources are assigned strategically to brands and projects.
  • Lead the modelling for the annual target setting process.
  • Ensure tools in place to review investments in line with strategy.
  • Drive ZBB with the support of detailed analysis to highlight savings opportunities.
  • Work with Media to bring insights and analytics to media performance including media sufficiency, competitiveness and optimisation opportunities
Net Revenue Management (NRM)
  • Drive NRM performance management with the HC NRM team.
  • Provide insights and actionable analytics on NRM performance across markets and cells.
  • Support HC NRM team in ambition setting.
  • Support projects and initiatives in Trade Term Investment (TTI) to minimise drift and drive efficiencies.
Collaborate in the wider HC Finance Agenda
  • Collaborate in cross team projects and programmes. Lead, support and participate in various initiatives to build Home Care Finance's thriving culture in areas of wellbeing, learning, connectivity, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, and high business impact areas.

Location
In September 2020, Unilever announced the intention to build a new sustainable campus site in Kingston, London to house the employees who currently work in 100 Victoria Embankment in Blackfriars, Lever House in Kingston, Unilever House in Leatherhead and Graze in Richmond. We are creating our own Unilever sustainable, agile work environment, purposefully bringing us together in our own Unilever ecosystem. The campus is due to be completed in early 2025 and will consist of two interconnected buildings, as well as landscaped surrounding areas.
Recruitment Fraud:

In the most sophisticated cases, they will set up fake websites, which have a similar address to companies like Unilever. They even conduct fake telephone interviews and then offer candidates a role with the proviso they pay a fee for background checks or to cover work visa costs. These types of attacks are becoming more common as more people are looking for employment in the economic climate.
How is Unilever tackling this?
Many of Unilever's recruitment sites publish a warning to candidates about recruitment fraud. The Cyber Security team also proactively scan for signs of people setting up fake Unilever sites and act to close them down.
