Finance Manager Private Motor - FTC -UK HYBRID WORKING, Salary of up to £50,000 per annum - Excellent benefits package, training, up to 28 days annual leave plus bank holidays, buy/sell up to 5 days holiday, bonus scheme (10% of basic salary based on business and personal performance) Working hours 37.5 hours per week Monday – Friday.

The ideal candidate will be a qualified or part-qualified ACA, CIMA or ACCA Accountant with experience in general insurance and insurance accounting. This is a challenging role and will involve extensive business partnering with internal and external stakeholders, so the ability to build relationships is essential. You will require an eye for detail and have a focus on controls and process improvement. You will need strong management skills and have experience of working in a controlled and deadline-driven environment.

Finance business partnering

* Partnering with the business in implementation of business change, considering downstream impacts in financial processing, financial controls and timeliness of data for financial reporting

* Provide and maintain an effective reporting over key bank account funds including the reconciliation of key balances and timely requests of further funding being required.

* Build and nature outsourced partners relationships to ensure financial issues are appropriately identified, resolved, and escalated if required.

Financial Accounting

* Ensure all financial records are maintained in an accurate and timely fashion for the UK Private Motor Products across various systems and partners.

* Identify complex or unusual transactions and seek assistance from the wider finance management community if their treatment can not be clearly understood.

* Ensure all financial control policies and accounting manual procedures are maintained and adhered to.

* Automate and streamline data and financial processing across the UK motor book

* Accounting for and monitoring performance and key balances of UK non fault income

* Support with data provision for UK quarterly and annually external and regulatory reporting

* Work with external auditors, providing information in accordance with requests and answering queries in a professional and efficient manner

Financial control

* Support with the development and application of appropriate financial controls across the UK business units, working with the Group Finance team

* Monitor and maintain balance sheet integrity through regular review, testing and aging

* Maintain and report bad and doubtful debt performance across UK motor lines, including supporting the Credit Control team

* Projects as required, including working closely with the others in Finance on medium and long-term projects

Knowledge, Experience and Qualifications

* Qualified or part-qualified ACA, CIMA or ACCA, or demonstrable equivalent experience

* General insurance experience essential

* Knowledge of insurance accounting

* Experience of working in a controlled and deadline-driven environment

* Experience of designing and implementing financial control processes

* Strong management and communication skills

* Experienced SUN user (preferable)
