To provide our customers with a world class claims service by ensuring that their claims are assessed quickly, and if valid are settled in the shortest possible time. The in-house Total Loss Engineering Team deal with all aspects of both Insured and Third party motor inspections/ valuations, using state of the art technology to receive, audit estimates and value vehicles prior to Negotiating settlement of claims. The Engineers also inspect and deal with all total loss claims that First Notification of Loss has sent directly to Copart where vehicles likely to be written off are identified. The team deal with both car, light commercial and motor bikes, also pre theft and fire valuation and negotiation are also carried out by the team. The business uses Copart to collect all total loss vehicles and dispose of them via Auction. A good understanding of Experian, glass’s guide, parkers guide, caps and generally knowledge of searching the market is essential. Support is given to all aspects of the business by the team in order to assist in the claims process for both insured and third party in order to expedite settlement and minimise costs. Adhere to the FCA Treating Customers Fairly 6 Consumer Outcomes.
We’ll need you to be able to:
Provide support to the Engineering Team Leaders by ensuring delivery of own performance against agreed objectives, KPI’s and SLA’s.
Maintain knowledge in specialist area to improve understanding of technical issues.
Provide technical support to department and customers.
Liaise with external suppliers and Storage recovery agents and negotiate fair and reasonable costs payable by AAUICL.
Ensure adequate processes and controls are applied to identify and mitigate any risks.
Support the Total Loss team by negotiating settlements direct with the insured, in line with processes laid down
Maintain Copart website and ensure all vehicles are cleared for auction within sla’s, chase customers if we need to clear private plates/ lease agreements
Treat our customers fairly and ensure that the customer receives world class customer service in accordance with industry and company guidelines.
Support cost, service and process efficiency projects across the team, as well as participating in departmental projects.

We’re Looking for:
Skills required
Engineering experience within the motor insurance industry
Member of either IMI / IRTE / ATA / VDA preferable but not essential.
Motor Claims knowledge

Experience/Knowledge Required: Good working knowledge of motor vehicle construction and modern repair techniques, be a member of either IMI / IRTE / ATA / VDA or be working towards (or willing to do so), Motor Claims knowledge including a basic understanding of insurance principles and good working knowledge of computerised damage estimating systems, including Audatex. Qualifications: Graduate preferred, but minimum 6 GCSEs including Maths & English at Grade C or above or demonstrable ability in numeracy skills & written English.
