My client, a specialist Venture Capital firm, are looking for a Fund Controller to join the core finance team in their London based office.

This role will provide a unique opportunity to be involved across all aspects of the funds under management and future fundraisings.



RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Work closely with and become the lead contact with the Fund Administrators to produce quarterly and annual financial statements as well as ad-hoc requests
  • Manage the annual audit process for the various Funds
  • Calculation of the quarterly management fee and recharges, working closely with the management accountant to ensure the accurate invoicing and payments of such fees
  • Working with Portfolio Companies – obtaining and reviewing quarterly information
  • Liaising with Partners and the investment team on cash management of the Funds and underlying performance metrics
  • Maintaining and updating valuations based on company progression, legal agreements and the market working closely with the Investment Committee and Partners
  • Working with the investor relations and deal teams to produce quarterly schedule of investments
  • Calculation and provision of financial information to the Partners for bi-annual reviews and AGM, Limited Partner Advisory Committee meetings (“LPAC”) and other ad hoc review requirements
  • Reviewing of legal agreements and cap tables to ensure accurate payment and investment recording of transactions
  • Engaging with tax advisors on both UK and US tax filings for the Funds
  • Other ad hoc requests such as set up of companies, closure of companies


SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Prior private equity / venture capital experience is a plus
  • Accounting qualification, ACA (or equivalent), ACMA
  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills required
  • Advanced Excel modelling is a plus
  • An ability to work independently in a dynamic, fast-moving environment
  • Must be able to pro-actively prioritise competing demands and deliver high-quality results
  • Strong software knowledge is desirable including Cobalt, Microsoft and accounting software including NetSuite, Zero
  • Must have strong integrity, judgement, work ethic, and be a team player
  • The team focus on strong interpersonal interaction to assist through the multiple busy periods within finance
