Our client is an investment back project developer who are looking at building on their existing portfolio of projects both in the UK and Internationally.

They are currently looking for a CFO, ideally someone who understands project development and has experience in the renewable energy market.

Responsibilities

Responsible for managing a small finance team including finance controller, modeller / analyst, project financier, bookkeeper etc.
Assist in the development of the business plan and strategic direction of the Group ensuring minimal risk through methodical planning and processes.
Apply rigour to the business with strong financial controls, business and shareholder governance, implementing and managing accounting and business systems, processes and regular performance reporting to the board.
Oversee the development and application of the project and valuation finance models for asset development and operations.
Oversee the development of the group corporate structure required for ongoing fund raising and asset management activities.
Oversee the governance, accounting, performance monitoring and operational activities of the group, liaising with and reporting as necessary to the Board.
Prepare for and respond to inquiries including the verification of regulatory compliance of transaction reporting to project finance providers
Oversee the budgeting and resourcing of key hires for the finance and commercial functions of the Group.
Oversee the development of a legal suite of documents required for the respective functions of the Group.
Oversee the management and promotion of investment documentation in relation to equity and project finance.
Oversee the debt and equity fund raising, specifically the transaction origination and execution in relation to individual projects and the Group.
Oversee shareholder reporting on the group performance and project updates with additional market intel on the solar and renewable energy investment markets.
Attend investment briefings or consult financial media to stay abreast of relevant investment markets.
Oversee research, such as detailed company or industry analysis, to inform financial forecasting, decision making, or valuation.
Evaluate the potential of new product developments or market opportunities, according to factors such as business plans, technologies, or market potentialRequirements

A strong transactional track record in raising debt and private equity
Hands on approach with past experience of SME
Renewables sector experience: solar, battery storage, wind
Relevant accounting / corporate finance qualifications
