What are we looking for?

We now have an opportunity for a Management Accountant to join Fleet Solutions to take responsibility for the preparation of accurate and timely reporting, especially around month end to aid and drive business decisions.

The Management Accountant provides key insight to the business performance by looking at current financial information and non-financial data to determine the position of the business. This information will be used by senior management to make short term decisions and develop strategies for long term growth.

Responsibilities for the Management Accountant will include:
  • Preparation of accurate and timely weekly reports and month end results, variance analysis and commentaries
  • Preparation and posting of journals
  • Preparation of external reporting (Office of National Statistics surveys etc)
  • Preparation of insurance renewal information and similar
  • Preparation of VAT returns
  • Preparation of balance sheet reconciliations
  • Assistance with the year-end process ensuring timely production of statutory accounts and company accounts for group
  • Assistance with financial audits
  • Preparation of Intercompany reporting
  • Assistance with cashflow management and foreign exchange hedging opportunities
  • Contribution to continuous improvement and cost reduction opportunities across the company
  • Provision of support to additional areas within the business when needed
  • Reconciliation and preparation of customer and supplier accounts
  • Any other ad hoc duties appropriate to the role

Apply if you have most of the following:

  • Essential: CIMA/ACCA/ACA qualified or equivalent

  • Knowledge and experience of ERP system implementation desirable
  • Experience working with non-finance professionals
  • IFS system experience will be a distinct advantage
  • Knowledge of tax would be desirable

  • Strong analytical skills with attention to details and high competency in data analysis using Excel and other reporting tools
  • Methodical and systematic mindset
  • Ability to work in a high-pressured environment
  • Ability to maintain strong relationships with external clients and internal colleagues
  • Team player with ability to support others and contribute to creating an open and productive working environment
  • Proactive and driven by need for continual improvement
