Management accountant

For DWF's high profile Finance Team, we are seeking to recruit an experienced Management Accountant for our Central Services Division based in our prestigious Manchester office.

As an experienced Management Accountant, you will work closely with the Division's Finance Business Partner in providing timely financial information and insight that supports business decision-making. You will take ownership of relevant Management Account packs and work closely with the wider Finance Team to deliver regular, timely and accurate financial information to the business with an eye for continual improvement and development of process and output.

This role offers you the opportunity to

Own and produce the monthly Divisional Management Accounts and associated reporting packs.

Support the Finance Business Partner as a key finance contact for Department Heads.

Implement action points from divisional Monthly Review Meetings.

Work with a mind-set of continuous improvement. Identify opportunities for simplification, optimisation and standardisation of process and, where relevant, take responsibility for change.

Become the team expert on critical processes (e.g. payroll) so that all critical processes are covered by the Financial Control team.

Produce and oversee production of the monthly P&L analysis and certain balance sheet reconciliations, taking responsibility for their delivery to Group reporting timetables.

Take personal responsibility for your journal postings, ensuring other teams affected understand their impact.
  • Assist with the development and training of the team's assistant accountants.
  • Assist all other areas of the Financial Control Team as appropriate.

We are keen to hear from candidates who share our values of teamwork and client focus. A similar financial background in a legal environment would be ideal, with:
  • A desire to be a part of a fast-paced environment of a listed company to support the team delivering results to timetable.
  • Experience of working through a month end is desirable (but not mandatory)
  • Holder of a recognised professional accounting qualification or significant experience in a similar role.
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to summarise information concisely, particularly to non-finance colleagues.
  • Strong IT skills including Microsoft Excel.
  • High level of attention to detail with significant emphasis on quality of work.
