Senior Finance Assistant
Plymouth, Devon
£28,000 - £30,500 per annum

An exciting opportunity has arisen within a local charity who are looking for an ambitious Senior Finance Assistant with a strong analytical mind-set. This role covers a wide range of duties within the organisation, with plenty of training on offer to develop a candidate with a 'can-do' attitude who is eager to learn.

You will be involved in the project funding process from grant claim preparation, forecasting and budgeting as well as calculating costs for approval.

This role also includes processing Payroll and some statutory submissions, offering a varied and diverse working week. A generous package is on offer for the right candidate, including 30 days annual leave plus bank holidays.

Responsibilities include:
* Preparing accurate monthly project reports for budget holders.
* Analysing project data & preparing forecasts as required.
* Preparing & submitting grant & contract claims.
* Liaising with external stakeholders in regards to project claims.
* Analysing data & preparing full cost calculation to support overhead rates.
* Preparing Payroll including timesheets, pensions, and foreign payments & submitting statutory reports.
* Inputting monthly salary allocations across grants & projects.
* Year-end Payroll reconciliations.
* Weekly cash flow forecasts.
* Financial analysis & management reports as required.
* Assisting with year-end account closure including balance sheet account reconciliation & schedule production.

Candidate Qualities/Criteria:
* Excellent attention to detail.
* Experience reviewing and analysing financial data, taking a problem solving approach.
* Good payroll experience.
* A team player, able to work flexibly around changing priorities.
* Sage experience beneficial.
* Experience working with UK/EU grant funding, or experience working within a charitable organisation would be highly desirable.
