Accounting Manager opportunity - Hybrid Role
CFS of New York is working with Non-Profit Organization that has been operating for over 100 years representing the values and beliefs of Judaism
About the Organization
They operate all over North America and in the Middle east by providing leadership and opportunities for people of all ages
Although they operate over 600 communities, this is a great opportunity to be the number 1 person for the HR function of the organization
This opportunity is for a hands-on director to transition to a more strategic focused individual for the HR function
Very mission driven and are looking for someone who has the same energy

Responsibilities of the Accounting Manager:
Senior Accountant will prepare journal entries, general ledger for the month end close and work on accruals
The Senior Accountant will focus on preparing for the A-133 audits and help prepare 990 filings
Senior Accountant will ensure proper coding on all accounts payable transactions, including payments to vendors and employee expense reimbursements.
The Senior Accountant will ensure that releases from restricted funds are properly executed and is consistent with the purpose of the grant or fund
Work alongside the CFO on developing proper accounting policies and procedures moving forward
Qualifications preferred for the Accounting Manager:
5+ Years of progressive accounting experience in the nonprofit industry
Bachelors in Accounting
Accounting Software such as Financial Edge, Fund EZ, MIP, Great Plains and Blackbaud preferred
Strong Excel Skills as the Senior Accountant will be working on a lot of reporting
Attention to details, strong work ethic and interested in their mission statement
