About the Business Unit
The Department of Justice and Community Safety (the department) delivers a justice and community safety system that works to build a safer, fairer and stronger Victoria.
The Finance, Procurement and Performance business unit leads the department's efforts to ensure it operates within its means to achieve its priorities. It is responsible for the department's financial, budgetary and procurement strategies, policies and processes. The business unit also leads investment and performance analysis - a strengthened accountability agenda.

About the Role
The Finance Support Officer position is part of the team responsible for Technology Solutions and reports to the ICT Finance Manager. The role will assist in a range of financial functions within the finance team, including working in accordance with department financial policies, processes and standards. The role will specifically undertake the accounts payable function and associated finance and administrative responsibilities.
Some of your duties may include:

* Provide informed advice and guidance on financial processes and policies to Finance, Procurement and Performance management and staff including project teams and contractors and suppliers. Liaise with relevant stakeholders throughout the department.
* Process financial and management accounting transactions within the department's corporate mainframe systems in accordance with regulations, policy directions and statutory financial reporting requirements. Specific tasks include raising and maintaining Purchase Orders in Oracle iProcurement, receipting and processing invoices, running reports and processing journals.
* Undertake a range of finance related administrative duties including maintenance of travel (cab charge/myki) and training records, corporate card transactions, and filing of documentation in the department's Electronic Document Management System.

About You
As our ideal candidate, you will be able to demonstrate:

* Demonstrated experience in a variety of financial and management accounting processes.
* Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the application of a range of financial systems and Microsoft Office applications.

Qualifications/Requirements

* A tertiary qualification in accounting, finance, business or a related discipline will be highly regarded.
