Treasury Accountant, Flexible Location (non-London)

We are looking for a Treasury Accountant to join the Tax and Treasury team as part of Grant Thornton’s wider Finance function. You will have the opportunity to work with various teams within Finance and to provide key support and assurance across the organisation.

The Treasury Accountant plays an important role in ensuring that the organisation can reliably forecast its cashflow movements which will underpin key business decisions. The role offers opportunities for interaction with a wide range of stakeholders as part of an inclusive and supportive professional services firm.

A look into the role

As a Treasury Accountant, you will:
  • be managing our day to day cash requirements by using our bank facilities in the most efficient way that maintains liquidity whilst managing our interest cost
  • have a good understanding of the immediate and future cash flow requirements of the firm and be able to work with other stakeholders with their related reporting requirements
  • review and manage current controls amongst bank account users and authorisers and ensure that future changes are applied and communicated promptly
  • quickly bring yourself up to speed on the firm’s current banking requirements and policies and be responsible for applying these and be confident in providing challenge to your stakeholders where required
  • have strong communication skills and be able to apply these according to the audience

Knowing you’re right for us

Joining us as a Treasury Accountant, the minimum criteria you’ll need is experience of working within the treasury function of large organisation. It would be great if you had some of the following skills, but don’t worry if you don’t tick every box, we’ll help you develop along the way.
  • Experience of managing a Revolving Credit Facility or similar debt facility within an organisation.
  • Experience of forming effective relationships and communicating effectively with key stakeholders, including external auditors and lenders.
  • A track record of driving improvements in processes in order to save time or increase the quality of the outputs.
  • Demonstrate a strong commercial understanding of an organisation and the role which a strong Treasury function plays in a successful finance team.
