Requirements:
B Com degree or relevant tertiary qualification in [URL Removed] experience in a Bookkeeping / Accounting position.
Preferred Experience:
Experience in stock and cost accounting. People skills and managing a small [URL Removed] knowledge of Syspro ERP Software.
Main purpose of the job:
Responsible for the accounting functions and reporting of financial data, but not limited to the primary duties listed below.
Primary Duties:
- Run Syspro day ends, and month ends.
- Reconciling & resolving outstanding transactions between sub-modules and general ledger.
- Responsible for all stock and stock takes, supporting business unit managers with stock take processes.
- Keep all the stock master files accurate and up to date and ensure costs are correct.
- Analyse stock anomalies and reconciling adjustments.
- Monthly reporting to unit managers on stock movements and stock take variances.
- Support manufacturing divisions with work in progress open jobs.
- Check and resolve discrepancies on trial balances.
- Finalise month end management accounts.
- Review financial performance at monthly costing meetings with unit managers and investigate anomalies on the monthly accounts.
- Maintain fixed asset registers.
- Preparation and reconciliation of VAT control account.
- Manage group insurance claims and liaise with insurance brokers.
- Assist with annual budgets together with unit managers.
- Assist with internal and external audits.
- Follow accounting controls as per company procedures, adhering to accounting and auditing standards.
- Create and maintain sound ethical relationships with suppliers and peers.
- Maintain housekeeping, security, and safety in accordance with the company standards and policies.
- Actively support the company's improvement program.
- Form an active part of the team and perform any other functions as requested by Management from time to time to enhance business productivity and as part of self-development.
