Marsh is seeking candidates for the following position that can be based in New Zealand.

Principal - Construction

This role works in conjunction with the client executives and service teams to deliver specialist construction expertise ensuring that a high degree of quality customer service is always provided to all clients. It will also include working with the business development team to develop new business opportunities.

In this role you will be responsible for:
  • Aligning our services and programs with the client's business, risk management and insurance needs
  • Leading, planning and implementing clear and effective renewal and broking strategies for construction programmes and projects
  • Maximize team and account profitability through the implementation of efficient and effective work practices, adequate client billing and sensible expense control
  • Provide clear and accurate delegation of key tasks to appropriate team members
  • Consistently meet and exceed own and team revenue, expense and trading profit budgets
  • Assisting Practice Leader with the preparation, management, implementation and achievement of team/unit business plans and goals
  • Recognizing and capitalizing upon revenue generation, growth and other opportunities
  • Comply fully with the Company's Errors and Omissions avoidance procedures
  • Adhering to the Company's Quality practices and other systems and procedures
  • Work closely with the development team to assist and convert New Business opportunities

We would like you to have:
  • Prior experience in a similar role, working on complex global or major accounts
  • Strong understanding of the construction industry
  • Strategic thinker and a natural problem solver
  • Extremely confident in communicating with the C-suite.
  • Significant experience in successfully managing major client relationships
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels with strong influencing and negotiation skills
  • Some travel may be required
