About the Role
You will be reporting into our Group Innovation and Sustainability Team who work together towards the common goal of positioning Fletcher Building as the Australasian leader in sustainable building materials, construction, and distribution.
Transitioning to a low carbon footprint organisation in the market is not only critical for NZ environment and society, but it is a competitive advantage. One of the key sustainability aims of Fletcher Building is to meet our science-based carbon reduction target of reducing our emissions (Scope 1 and 2) by 30% before 2030. The project is focused on understanding the opportunities around energy generation, distribution, and management (EGDM) technologies through a global lens. For this project, we are looking for an intern who can research what we should be aware of in this sector in high level of detail.
About You
You will have strong research data analysis skills as well as advanced Excel skills to dive deep into complex data and research white papers. You will have knowledge/interest in highly complex and regulated technology landscape, environmental impacts, and commerce to be able to guide the project through the discovery process and answer key critical questions. This project is supported by funding from Callaghan Innovation in the form of an R&D grant. To be successful in this 10-week internship you must meet the following eligibility requirements:

- Identify and mapping key macro trends in EGDM globally to understand what technologies are being developed.
- Developing clear segmentation of EGDM markets via business/operating models, technology differentiation and value propositions.
- Mapping domestic operators within the segments and identifying key partners with an in-depth profile for future engagement.
About You

This project is supported by funding from Callaghan Innovation in the form of an R&D grant. To be successful in this 10-week internship you must meet the following eligibility requirements:
- You will have an undergraduate/post graduate degree in mechanical or electrical engineering.
- Experience with desktop assessments, research and reporting on the market, landscape, and technology gaps.
- Strong research and energy modelling capabilities with investigative skills with your organised approach to collecting information from a range of sources.
- You'll be able to share high-quality findings based on quality decision-making and be comfortable being involved with meetings and presentations with internal and external stakeholders.
- If the study has been completed, the closing date of your final semester should be less than 12 months ago.
- Be legally permitted to work in New Zealand.
- Not have been previously employed at Fletcher Building unless part-time or temporary.
- Not have undertaken more than two Experience Grant internships with Fletcher Building
