About this opportunity:
Due to expansion we are looking to appoint an experienced Pensions Analyst to join our business based in Birmingham City Centre (WFH will be considered) providing expert witness reports, predominately in the field of Pensions and Divorce. We are instructed by solicitors acting on behalf of divorcing parties, to consider their pension assets, value them, and advise on various solutions for their division. This position can be offered on either a full time or part time basis.

Responsibilities Include:
  • Assessing cases and initiating letters and emails to instructing solicitors.
  • Using pension scheme documentation including Cash Equivalent Value and Benefit Statements to obtain specific benefit details to be used within Expert Witness reports.
  • Communicating with third party pension administrators and collating pension documentation necessary for individual reports to be written.
  • Managing own workload to ensure administration team meets daily and weekly quality of service targets.
  • Maintaining accuracy of client case records by using Microsoft Word and Excel as well as an in-house CRM database to undertake all administration tasks efficiently.
  • Proof reading of Expert Witness reports both from presentational and technical point of view.
  • Preparing invoices and general credit control duties.

Skills/Qualifications:
  • Previous experience either in a DB pension scheme environment, administration of pensions within a life office or IFA specialising in pensions.
  • GCSE English and Maths or equivalent.
  • Any professional Finance related qualification is desirable but not essential.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills including a good telephone manner and good letter writing skills using Microsoft applications.
  • An enquiring mind and enthusiasm and confidence to challenge data provided.
  • Enthusiasm to develop knowledge and understanding of DB & DC schemes and Pensions & Divorce legislation and procedure.
  • Ability to meet deadlines/work within restricted timescales

  • Ability to work on own initiative to achieve required results
