Robert Half are exclusively partnering with a reputable and well-known not-for-profit organisation that are entering an exciting transition phase that will see their business go through a period of rapid growth. The Finance Manager position will be a critical hire as the business prepares to scale and work towards their new strategic goals. You will have the opportunity to work closely with senior leadership and shape the future of the Financial Accounting function whilst contributing towards process improvement on a daily basis.

The Role

Reporting into the Senior Financial Controller, you will lead a team to manage the overall financial accounting and compliance for the organisation and own the revenue accounting process and treasury function. This is a pivotal management role in the Financial Control team and you will be the 2ic to the Senior Financial Controller.

• Lead and manage a team of x4 Financial/Assistant Accountants
• Responsible for all external and internal financial reporting and compliance reporting, including the annual statutory financial statements, project accounting, government and grant reporting and monthly & quarterly financial accounting and results
• Manage month end and year end statutory audit processes, including project managing teams to deadlines and working with stakeholders in the business and auditors
• Develop and enhance finance policies, procedures and practices and monitor compliance with these
• Lead ongoing improvements for business transformation and to optimise processes
• Manage the external audit relationship including EOFY audit field work and other critical accounting matters
• Support the insurance function - assistance with renewals and claims
• Support the internal audit function
• Other duties as required.

Your Profile

You will be a CA/CPA qualified professional either in an industry based Senior Financial Accountant or Finance Manager role with previous experience managing a small team. Previous experience within Big 4 or Mid-tier Audit would be viewed advantageously - this role would suit someone looking to make the move from Audit into their first industry-based role.

Most importantly you are excited about a challenging new role in an organisation that are on a fantastic journey. Previous experience within not-for-profit is not required for this position.
