The West Gate Tunnel Project, Major Transport Infrastructure Authority (WGTP MTIA) has an opportunity for an experienced Financial Controller to join the Finance and Corporate Services team on the West Gate Tunnel Project (WGTP).

The position provides advice and leadership in financial matters relating to the WGTP and ensures financial activities comply with the Government's financial management framework. The incumbent is accountable for facilitating key technical deliverables within tight and conflicting timeframes and plays a key advisory role to WGTP's Executive Leadership Team, especially in ensuring the organisation exercises its financial management responsibilities in accordance with the Financial Management Act, the Audit Act, the Standing Directions and Financial Reporting Directions.

The successful candidate must have highly effective communication and stakeholder management skills with an ability to identify and manage emerging issues. The position will maintain close communication with the Department of Treasury and Finance and Department of Transport in relation to the provision of budget management, financial transactions, compliance and reporting, and accounting advice and application. They also will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which include national police checks and misconduct screening.

Please be advised that it is a requirement for all MTIA staff to be compliant with the MTIA COVID-19 Vaccination Policy (the Policy). The Policy stipulates that, unless an employee is an Excepted Person within the meaning of the Policy, in order to attend an MTIA workplace the employee must hold ‘up-to-date' vaccination status in accordance with ATAGI guidance, which for most includes their primary vaccination course and booster.
