We sat down with one of our Product Manager's (who you'd report to), and they let us know the following about the role.

What is the team culture and environment like?

Busy but caring. Everyone is very particular about their work and the value they add but supportive of one another.

What projects / work will the candidate be working on now and into the next year?

Mainframe uplift (modernisation initiatives), BS11 and ensuring all our customers & colleagues have access to their banking everyday.

What is your management style?

I like to provide clarity to ensure good direction and the opportunity to empower others.

What is the most exciting thing about this opportunity?

Dealing with issues / incidents (sometimes significant) that affect our customers in real time.

What is the most challenging thing about this opportunity?

The scope of the various streams of work and how it impacts with Mainframe Services/customers/stakeholders.

What do we want you to know before you apply?

This will be a challenging role but so very rewarding for the right candidate. You will need to absorb lots of technical information but have a natural and effective communication style that simplifies the complex

What will success look like for the candidate in this role?

Comfort in having conversations about mainframe services, ability to influence and grow relationships. Providing our stakeholders with a clear understanding of what MFS does and how to engage.

What attributes will this person display in order to be successful in this role?

Strong communicator with an understanding of owning and running a backlog, but most of all the ability to relate to all types of people and get what you need from them.
