A Luton based business are looking to recruit a Finance Analyst to join their team. The purpose of the role will be to support the Finance Manager in providing analytical support and insight on the key drivers for cost changes. Responsibilities:

  • Business Partnering to ensure that the business owners are supported with the right insight and information at all times. Strong business partnering with cross functional stakeholders including wider Finance team, Operations & commercial teams to ensure seamless communication and integrity of results and forecasts.
  • Budget and Outlook Setting
  • Development of initiatives and tracking delivery
  • Monthly reporting and analysis
  • Re-forecasting
  • Business case evaluation and decision support
  • Input into the 5yr Plan
  • Ad-hoc projects
  • Providing monthly detailed analysis and insight into the costs which can be used to drive business performance and improve the cost base
  • Responsibility for accurate weekly forecasting into consolidated model and cash forecasting model
  • Driving confidence in numbers and providing insight into risks and opportunities
  • Driving continuous improvements in the operational and finance processes
  • Demonstrates a good understanding of all costs including the development of cost models for future sustainability policy
  • Creates budget pack detailing variances by cost driver for presentation to senior management and for procurement
  • Provides financial evaluation and acts as decision support for ad-hoc projects and cost saving initiatives
  • Works closely with procurement and operations, highlights lean initiatives and potential opportunities, providing necessary support and understanding of costs to ensure they are managed effectively

  • Generates full month end reporting detailing variances to plan and tracking the effectiveness of cost saving initiatives
  • Responsible for the production of month end reporting packs for the accounting team
  • Maintaining effective cross functional relationships
  • Providing subject matter expertise to a diverse and demanding set of stakeholders

Candidate Profile:
  • Qualified accountant able to embrace large, complex, preferably fast moving entities
  • Excellent analytical skills with an ability to demonstrate an excellent grasp of variance analysis and the key drivers
  • Ability to deliver the level of detail and insight required to support the procurement and ground operations team
  • Able to communicate and challenge effectively with key stakeholders at all seniority levels in the organisation
  • Able to demonstrate the commercial value of Finance projects
  • Ability to explain finance to non-financial stakeholders
  • A proactive team player
  • An ability to work on own initiative, and has the confidence to offer solutions
  • A true self starter, with high levels of motivation and enthusiasm
  • Excellent excel skills (up to basic macros)
