We are currently seeking an Accounts Assistant to join our Head Office Team in Manchester to support the Financial Controller with financial administration and governance duties.
Purpose of the Position:
- To support the Financial Controller with day-to-day financial administration tasks associated with invoicing, vendor payments, payroll, expenses, and credit control.
- Collating expenses and overtime data for payroll.
- Running reports from time, cost, and expenses management software.
- The role will cover a varied workload to including assisting with the preparation of accounts and VAT returns using electronic systems.
- To represent the company to vendors and customers and promote our core values.
- To support the Financial Controller and general administration team through collaboration and knowledge sharing.
- To identify opportunities for further personal development and advancement.
Requirements of the Position:
- Demonstrable experience within a similar or relevant working environment at a junior or intermediate level.
- Experience of managing financial transactions with accuracy and timeliness.
- Working knowledge of assisting with the preparation of accounts, VAT and Tax Returns.
- Working knowledge of various software packages such as, Xero and Sage.
- Proficient with the use of Microsoft Office suite of software.
- Academic qualifications appropriate to the role.
- A positive attitude who is willing to take on new challenges and learn new skills.
- The ability to prioritise workloads, demonstrate attention to detail, flexibility, and have a proactive approach to work.
- The ability to communicate effectively and build good working relationships.
