Our Client is looking to hire an Audit Senior Associate.

About this role

This is a fantastic opportunity to join their UK Audit team.

Their Audit function is a dedicated group of professionals focused on delivering top-quality assurance services to the organisation's Audit Committee. Audit's vision to provide high value, independent, proactive insights, to innovate with technology, and to be a top-notch talent destination, creates a dynamic atmosphere for both personal growth and professional opportunity.

They're seeking an energetic, self-motivated Senior Associate interested in becoming part of their UK Audit team. As a member of the UK Audit team, you'll focus on conducting operational and compliance-related audits for the UK and Canada Credit Card business.

What you'll do
  • Perform risk assessments of business activities and perform relevant testing based on the risks and processes associated with the area being audited
  • Support in communicating issues, risks and recommendations to all levels of management
  • Develop and maintain strong and effective working relationships with key business partners and the extended Audit group
  • Leverage available data and analytical tools during the planning and fieldwork phases of audit delivery
  • Use your critical thinking to understand the business and its control environment and apply your insight and objectivity to provide assurance on the effectiveness and efficiency of their governance, risk management, and internal control processes
  • Proactively follow-up on agreed audit actions to ensure management delivers their commitments within the agreed timescales
  • Proactively seek out learning opportunities to enhance skills and competencies related to role
  • Very occasional and optional travel to Canada to perform audit engagements, typically less than twice a year, although they are flexible to personal circumstances

What They're looking for
  • Proven history of contributing to the delivery of internal or external audit
  • Proven skills in assessing business risks and the ability to identify, design, execute risk-based testing
  • Relevant qualification (ACCA, ACA, CIMA, IIA or equivalent)
  • You adapt to change, embrace bold ideas, and like to ask questions, test assumptions, and challenge conventional thinking
  • You develop influential relationships based upon shared risk objectives and trust to deliver outstanding business impact and elevate Audit's value proposition
  • You're a firm believer that a rich understanding of data, innovation, and technology will only make you a better auditor
  • You create energy and an environment that fosters trust, collaboration, and belonging, making it easy to attract, hire, and retain top talent

They are committed to creating a level playing field and seek to create teams that are representative of their customers and the communities they serve. They'd love to hear from you if you identify with a typically under-represented group in their industry and are particularly keen to hear from women and ethnic minority candidates.

Where and how you'll work

This is a permanent position and will be based in their Nottingham offices.

Their flexible, hybrid working model gives you the opportunity to work both remotely and in their offices, which provide great spaces for in-person collaboration.

Their core office days are Tuesday to Thursday, but the number of days you actually spend in the office will be led by your team, the work you're doing and your preferences. Many of their associates have flexible working patterns, so they're open to discuss flexible working arrangements with you.

What's in it for you
  • Bring them all this - and you'll be well rewarded with a role contributing to the roadmap of an organisation committed to transformation
  • They offer high performers strong and diverse career progression, investing heavily in developing great people through their University training programmes (and appropriate external providers)
  • Immediate access to their core benefits including pension scheme, bonus, generous holiday entitlement and private medical insurance - with flexible benefits available including season-ticket loans, cycle to work scheme and enhanced parental leave
  • Open-plan workspaces and accessible facilities designed to inspire and support you. Their Nottingham head-office has a fully-serviced gym, subsidised restaurant, mindfulness and music rooms.

What you should know about how they recruit

They pride themselves on hiring the best people, not the same people. Building diverse and inclusive teams is the right thing to do and the smart thing to do. They want to work with top talent: whoever you are, whatever you look like, wherever you come from. They know it's about what you do, not just what you say. That's why they make their recruitment process fair and accessible. And they offer benefits that attract people at all ages and stages.

They also partner with organisations including the Women in Finance and Race At Work Charters, Stonewall and upReach to find people from every walk of life and help them thrive with them. They have a whole host of internal networks and support groups you could be involved in, to name a few:
  • REACH - Race Equality and Culture Heritage group focuses on representation, retention and engagement for associates from minority ethnic groups and allies
  • OutFront - to provide LGBTQ+ support for all associates
  • Mind Your Mind - signposting support and promoting positive mental wellbeing for all
  • Women in Tech - promoting an inclusive environment in tech
  • EmpowHER - network of female associates and allies focusing on developing future leaders, particularly for female talent in their industry
